Port Orange police are searching for a man who exposed himself to three girls and yelled obscenities at them.


According to police, the girls were walking near the Port Orange Amphitheater, located at 2001 City Center Circle, on Aug. 6 when a man got out of a car that was parked nearby.

The man exposed himself to the girls and screamed an obscene question at them before driving away in a red or burgundy four-door car, possibly a late 1990s Honda, police said.The mother of one of the girls then called police, but a search failed to locate the man, police said.The culprit was described as a white man in his mid to late 30s with a buzz cut. He was wearing a red hat, aviator sunglasses, a blue shirt, baggy blue jeans and flip flops.Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Port Orange Police Department.

Man arrested in shooting death of step-father

A 31-year-old Lake County man has been arrested and charged with killing his step-father and shooting his mother, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 2:13 p.m., deputies responded to a home in the Pine Lakes area of Eustis and discovered that Daniel Rodgers had been shot and killed and Gloria Rodgers had been shot in the arm.

The home belongs to Brian Michael Boardway, 31, and investigators said he is the alleged shooter. He has been charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.

Boardway is being held at the Lake County Jail without bond.

Boardway’s mother, Gloria Rodgers, is a clerk with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and investigators said she and Boardway’s step-father, Daniel Rodgers, came to the house for an unknown reason.

Gloria Rodgers is being treated at Florida Hospital Waterman.
